The Recording Academy is to the Grammys what the Motion Picture Academy is to the Oscars. This distinguished organization realized a move was necessary in order to accomplish expansion plans related to their strategic vision. Wolcott was commissioned to design interiors for the selected site, a 2-story, 66,000 square foot space in the newly constructed Lantana East Development. Strategic goals and objectives for the organization influenced the plan and the directed the design to reflect the history and tenure of the organization as well as acknowledging the present and future of new media. The new office features a 2-story lobby with a water wall element and an integrated display chronicling the history of recording. The space, which accommodates the executive and administrative offices, has an aesthetic infused with iconic images that pay tribute to the recording industry. The new space is also ideally suited for accommodating functions that will utilize both indoor and outdoor areas. The interior space is also targeting a LEED Gold certification, which along with the base building could make it a Gold/Gold project.
